DIRECTOR OF MUSIC AND BANDMASTER

Peter Poel

Peter was born in Harderwijk (The Netherlands) on 21st May 1944. He studied at the Utrecht Conservatory of Music where he majored in the trombone.
In 1965 he joined the Dutch Ballet Orchestra in Amsterdam as First Trombonist.
In 1980 he transferred to the N.O.S. (Dutch Broadcasting Company) as First Trombonist with the Promenade Orchestra.
At that time, the orchestra was frequently to be seen performing in television programmes and has accompanied many famous national and international artists.
In 2004, when Peter retired, he left the orchestra.
In the "Veluwe", the area where Peter was born, he became a well-known conductor of the "Veluwe Brass".Peter had been a member of this band right at the start of its establishment in 1975. In 1990 he left this brass band which had, by this time, attained the highest possible level. Peter is presently Conductor of the "Harmonie" in Nunspeet.
Peter's only links with the military were as a conscripted soldier playing with the Fanfare Corps of the Engineers (Draft 64-1).
He will inspire and motivate the orchestra in order to accomplish an even greater musical eminence.

INSTRUCTOR/ DRUM MAJOR

Corné Pas

Corné has been connected with the OLFKG as a percussionist from the time that the OLFKG was originally founded.

Born in 1968, he obtained his Music Teacher's Diploma at the Brabant Conservatory. He fulfilled his military service (draft 87-6) as percussionist with the Engineers Fanfare Corps. After military service, he obtained the diploma "Drum-major" with Jan Peeters in 1991. Corné is the owner of the Percussion School "Lapas Percussion Academy". He also sells and repairs all types of percussion instruments.

Furthermore, he is (percussion) instructor at various musical clubs including a music school.

As of September 2004, Corné is appointed as an instructor of the OLFKG and from September 2005 also a drum-major.

As Instructor/Percussionist with a Drumband, a recent performance at the WMC 2005 in Kerkrade (the Netherlands) was rewarded with a Gold Medal.
